Neshkan - Russia - (Нешкан)

We have done about 100km again today - mainly being towed by the tank. We managed to cross the sea inlet just before the sand spit leading to Neshkan which was quite horrendous with the Land Rover simply being towed over huge lumps of ice and snow. It is surviving though and that "shortcut" did save us about 300km. The Land Rover can drive on the sand spits ok - its the valleys inland full of very deep snow and the frozen sea it can't cope with.

We have started to make arrangements for our flight from Providenya. Bering Air Alaska are organising the permits they need to do a chartered flight from Nome to collect us. We have set the date of 10th April with provision for extension into the following week if necessary. Of course there is a "whole day" difference between the US and Russia as we will cross the date line.
